Location and Accessibility

church from road

Address: 1089 Main Street, Housatonic, MA

Located in the heart of historic downtown Housatonic, next to the Ramsdell Library. We welcome and affirm people of all abilities. We have taken the following steps to ensure that no one is excluded from full participation in the life of our church.

Entrances

In addition to the front entrance, there is a ramp off the driveway on the right side of the building.

Parking

There is a small parking lot at the back of the building (driveway to the right of the entrance) and plenty of street parking is also available.

Directions

Our Google Maps link offers you door-to-door directions for driving, walking, or biking.

Mobility

Our sanctuary and social hall are accessible to those using wheelchairs or having limited mobility. Our restrooms are wheelchair friendly, but are not fully accessible (we do not have push button doors).

Sight

Large print hymnals and Orders of Service are always available. Please ask any usher for assistance. If you would like an orientation tour of the building during the week, contact our office to make arrangements.

Hearing

Our sanctuary has amazing acoustics and is a very “live” room. In 2022 we upgraded all of our sound equipment. We now have listening assistance devices and a loop for those with hearing aids. Closed captions run on the Zoom screen at home and in the sanctuary. We ask everyone to use a mic in the Sanctuary so those at home, and everyone in the room can hear.

Chemical Sensitivity

We use odorless candles and we encourage our members to not wear fragrances to worship. If you have any concerns about products used in the building, please be in touch with our minister, Rev. Carol.

Children with Special Needs

If you want your child to participate in the lifespan faith development program and feel that they may require special accommodation due to learning disabilities or behavioral issues, please contact Rev. Carol in advance so the best possible arrangements can be made.

Service Animals

Service and comfort animals are welcome. We have grassy areas where service animals may relieve themselves.

If you have any questions not answered or concerns not addressed, please contact info@uumsb.org to seek further information.
