Programs for All Ages

Lifespan Faith Development programs at UUMSB are designed to offer opportunities for deepening and exploring spirituality, traditions, history, scriptures, and practices in a Unitarian Universalist context including our congregational covenant and our UU Purposes and Principles. They offer opportunities for intergenerational learning and connection, and for folks in the community to find common interests and connection. Talk with Rev. Carol to learn more.

Worship – Children are encouraged to take part in worship. If you are worshipping from home and need access to any art materials (crayons, colored pencils, etc.), just email info@uumsb.org and we will send you a care package.

Workshop on Zoom – Is UU New to You? – January 23 – 7 – 8 p.m.
Join Rev. Carol for a quick tour of Unitarian Universalist theology, history, decision making (polity), and more! Held on Zoom – please RSVP to info@uumsb.org for the link!

“One Room Sunday School” class for nursery through elementary-age children.  We are using an adapted version of the “Wonderful Welcome” curriculum. Each week includes a story, discussion, and coloring or other activity.

Hiking Group – (Often First Saturdays at 10 a.m, but check the calendar first!). An opportunity to chat with some UUMSB friends on the trail, meet some new people in our community and have those deep conversations that can happen when you walk and talk. Gather at the trailhead, please email info@uumsb.org before you head out so we know to look for you before we start. All hikes are at your own risk. Don’t forget water, layers, and sturdy shoes!

Deep–Fried Faith – (back in March on 4th Tuesdays). Join in an exploration of philosophical and theological questions, some friendly conversation, and a little bit of silliness. Some folks may get dinner food, but you can also just come to chat.

Meditation Group –  Need a little nudge to remind yourself to engage in quiet meditation? Meet on Zoom each Friday from 9 – 9:30 a.m. for a brief check–in, and then 20 minutes of quiet meditation. Email info@uumsb.org for the link.

Small Group Ministry – Groups are ongoing, if you are interested in joining, please let Rev. Carol know. The primary emphasis of Small Group Ministry is to care for people—to serve them, encourage them to spiritual growth, and meet their needs for affirmation and acceptance. By creating an open, supportive and nurturing environment, Small Group Ministry promotes and facilitates spiritual growth and mutual interactive care for one another. Small Group Ministry sessions offer opportunities for deep listening and spiritual and theological reflection. For more information about Small Group Ministry generally, you can read the book Small Group Ministry: Saving the World Ten at a Time by Robert Hill or check out online resources at http://www.smallgroupministry.net/

Buddy Groups – Small groups of folks (3–4 people) gathered at regular intervals (some meet every week, some every other). They are a wonderful opportunity to really get to know some people in the congregation, and to have a place for checking in with others, and sharing deeply. It is different from Small Group Ministry in that the conversation is less structured, the groups are smaller and meet more often. A suggested format for the meetings is to do a check-in, share a gratitude for the week, and an intention or challenge. For a group with more structured spiritual reflection, Small Group Ministry might be right for you. Groups will be assigned randomly. To sign up (or ask questions), send an email to info@uumsb.org and let Rev. Carol know you would like to participate in a Buddy Group.

For more information: Please contact Rev. Carol Allman–Morton, minister@uumsb.org.

We worship Sundays at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom and in–person, at 1089 Main Street, Housatonic, MA
